The painting will be about 10cm/4 inches wider and taller once framed. About framing: Oil paintings are traditionally framed without glass as this allows uninterrupted viewing free from day or night time reflections normally associated with glass-covered images. We offer to frame for paintings delivered in Ireland and Northern Ireland. For other countries, it is best you frame it locally, as a framed painting is too delicate to ship overseas.

About delivery: For framed paintings delivered in Ireland, please allow 2 weeks for framing and delivery. For delivery to other parts of the world: Europe and USA can take around 2 weeks. Other countries maybe longer.

Frame choice:

White is by far the most popular choice in framing our paintings. White contrasts with the colours and dark areas, and brings out the highlights. Our three most popular frames are shown below.

Flat white

Example of a flat white frame. Canvas is stretched over a custom-made stretching frame. No need for glass, so you see your painting better. The frame is a contemporary flat white frame which sits directly on the painting.

Floating white

Example of a floating frame in white. Canvas is stretched over a custom-made stretching frame. No need for glass, so you see your painting better. The stretched canvas is then mounted inside an L-shaped frame, so it appears to "float" within the frame. Note the shadow cast by the stretched canvas inside the frame. We also "wrap" a little of the painting around to the left and right, so you see that from the side.

Silver gold

Example of a Silver gold frame. Canvas is stretched over a custom-made stretching frame. No need for glass, so you see your painting better. The frame is a more "dressy" style. Silver leaf, with champagne gold speckles and edge.
