Liffey Sepia Oil Painting

Oil Painting on Canvas. Size 140cm wide x 70cm high. Will be 150x80cm when framed. Sepia is an earthy colour, and combined with creamy whites, it gives a very soft and earthy feeling to a painting. This painting also has some subtle additions of colour added. As with all of our paintings, you can choose a frame. White is the most popular choice.

Frame choice:

White is by far the most popular choice in framing our paintings. White contrasts with the colours and dark areas, and brings out the highlights. Our three most popular frames are shown below.

Flat white

Example of a flat white frame. Canvas is stretched over a custom-made stretching frame. No need for glass, so you see your painting better. The frame is a contemporary flat white frame which sits directly on the painting.

Floating white

Example of a floating frame in white. Canvas is stretched over a custom-made stretching frame. No need for glass, so you see your painting better. The stretched canvas is then mounted inside an L-shaped frame, so it appears to "float" within the frame. Note the shadow cast by the stretched canvas inside the frame. We also "wrap" a little of the painting around to the left and right, so you see that from the side.

Silver gold

Example of a Silver gold frame. Canvas is stretched over a custom-made stretching frame. No need for glass, so you see your painting better. The frame is a more "dressy" style. Silver leaf, with champagne gold speckles and edge.
