What are landscape paintings?

Landscape painting refers to an artwork whose primary focus is natural scenery, such as mountains, forests, cliffs, trees, rivers, valleys, etc.

What better subject matter than our own beautiful country. Ireland is a top international tourist destination and it’s not for the weather I can assure you. From breathtaking cliffs to iconic street scenes, surrounded by watery oceans and dramatic skies… For an Irish artist, Ireland is a never-ending source of inspiration because everywhere we look, we can see nature’s palette.

The mystical beauty of nature and the grandeur of our countryside have inspired me and many others to pick up a paintbrush and paint.

I have found through my years of experience in the art retail space that landscapes are by far the most popular and relatable topic that customers go for when they see our large collection of paintings.

Paintings of landscapes aren’t always restricted to depictions of land. Images of seascapes, cloudscapes, skyscapes, riverscapes, and cityscapes, for example, can be included. The common thread that runs across all these -scape pieces is that they all feature some form of scenery.

In this digital age, having a phone camera comes with a lot of perks and one of them is taking pictures of your favourite scenery and saving it on your phone. But still, nothing can beat a real oil painting when it comes to hanging a piece of art on your wall. Hi, my name is Cathal Spelman, owner and one of the Artists of Artworld.ie.We specialise in large format oil paintings that are perfect for over your couch, bed or any big wall in your house. We have customers all over Ireland but our main customer base is in Dublin, Meath, Wicklow, Kildare and Carlow.

With over 20 years of experience as an artist and entrepreneur, I realised that rather than endless shopping in galleries or online, the best way to make the right choice when it comes to your next piece of Irish art is to see the painting in your own home and in the actual room it’s going to hang. I love what I do and love delivering our framed finished oil paintings on canvas to our satisfied customers.

So it is basically the art gallery that comes to your home instead of you going out.

With our unique service, we cover everything from bringing a large selection of paintings to you, framing, delivering and even hanging the painting. Each work is presented beautifully and ready to hang and as oil paintings traditionally do not require glass, you get to see the artwork in its full splendour without daylight or night light glass reflections as you would with traditional prints or photographs.

We bring the Art Gallery to your home

I have been in this business for 20 years and have hundreds of satisfied customers all throughout the Country. I found that one of the main obstacles to investing in a piece of art is not knowing if it will work in its intended room such as the kitchen, living room or dining area.

That is why we offer this unique service where we bring the art to your home. By doing this, you can see the oil painting hanging on your wall and see if it’ll work in its intended room, or work with your existing decor and furnishings.

You can choose more than 50 paintings in one viewing while in your own home. This saves you time and effort going into lots of art galleries and ending up not choosing any of the oil paintings on display.

We ship overseas

If you live outside Ireland and want to own a piece of Irish art, you don’t have to worry as we ship overseas. We ship your painting unframed and rolled into a sealed protective tube to ensure that your painting won’t be damaged. You can shop here.

You can browse my website artworld.ie, and if you see anything you like, you can click the “add to cart” button and it’ll take you to the checkout page. Enter your card and shipping details, depending on your location. We can either ship the painting in a rolled tube or deliver it to your door framed or unframed, but please note framing is only available for Irish deliveries.
